Kadapa Ultra Mega Solar Park is a large solar power project in Mylavaram mandal, Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It spans about 5,930 acres (around 2,400 hectares) and has a nameplate capacity of 1,000 MW (1 GW). As of 2020, 250 MW is operational and 750 MW is under construction.

The park is being developed by the Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation Private Limited (APSPCL), a joint venture of the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO), and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP).

The Union government approved the project in August 2015. In 2016, bids were invited for 250 MW and 650 MW portions. The 250 MW auction, held on 11 April 2017, was won by the French company Solairedirect at a record-low tariff of INR 3.15 per kWh (levellized over 25 years). That price was the lowest at the time, lower than the levellized tariff for the Rewa solar park.

In January 2017, SECI launched India’s first grid-scale solar-plus-storage tender for two 50 MW blocks in the park, each with 5 MW/2.5 MWh of battery storage.

The project faced delays because some Andhra Pradesh discoms were reluctant to buy solar power at the then-current tariffs, preferring other sources.
