KCLL (100.1 FM), branded as 100.1 Cool FM, is a San Angelo, Texas radio station that plays classic hits. It’s owned by Foster Communications Co. and carries programming from Westwood One. The station began as KYZZ in 1993 after a construction permit to Dwight Carver, and started broadcasting in 1995 with Tejano and country music, later focusing on Tejano in 1998. After Carver’s death, the license was transferred to Audrey Eileen Carver Luna in 2002, who upgraded power to 35,000 watts. Foster Communications bought the station for $450,000 in 2004, and on May 26, 2005, the call sign changed to KCLL and the Tejano format ended, making it a classic hits station.
