KBL All-Star Game
The KBL All-Star Game is South Korea’s annual basketball showcase organized by the Korean Basketball League (KBL). It began in 1998 and is usually held in mid-January, most often in Seoul. It has been hosted in other cities a few times: Ulsan in 2007, Busan in 2017, and Daegu in 2021. The early eight editions were played at Jamsil Arena in Seoul. The 2021 game, scheduled for January 17, was cancelled due to COVID-19, even though teams were selected. In 2024, the game went into overtime, the third overtime in All-Star history after the 1997-98 and 2001-02 editions. For the 2021–22 format, five players from each of the ten teams are nominated for fan voting. The top 24 vote-getters join the game, and the two most-voted players recruit eleven teammates each, regardless of their original teams. Heo Ung is notable for winning first place in fan voting in two consecutive years, 2016 and 2017. The latest edition was held in 2025.
