Richards Independent School District
Richards Independent School District is a public school district based in Richards, Texas. It serves Grimes County and parts of northwestern Montgomery County and southwestern Walker County. The district has one campus with Richards Elementary (K–6) and Richards High (7–12), plus a gym and an agriculture building. The district covers grades PK–12. As of 2018–2019, enrollment was 179 students, with about 17 teachers and 12 other staff, for a student–teacher ratio of about 10.5 to 1. The district's motto is Where Excellence is Expected. Texas Education Agency accountability scores show 82 out of 100 in 2018–2019, up from 72 in the previous year.
