Fínnachta

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Fínnachta, originally named Elim, was a High King of Ireland and the son of Ollom Fotla. It is said there was a “snow of wine” during his reign, which gave him the nickname Fínnachta. He ruled for twenty years and died of plague at Mag Inis in Ulster; his brother Slánoll succeeded him. Old sources place his reign in different times: Geoffrey Keating’s Foras Feasa ar Éirinn dates it to 913–895 BC, while the Annals of the Four Masters give 1278–1258 BC.
