Justice League, also known as the Justice League of America (JLA), is DC Comics’ famous team of superheroes. Created by Gardner Fox, they first appeared in 1960 and have since shown up in many films, TV shows, and video games.

Films
- Justice League (2017): The big-screen team movie released in 2017, produced as part of the DC Extended Universe. It brought Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg together.
- Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021): A four-hour director’s cut released on HBO Max that presents Snyder’s original vision, with a darker tone and new/extra footage.
- The Flash (2023): A film connected to the same universe, continuing the stories of DC’s heroes.

Early development
- Justice League: Mortal (plans for a 2007–2008 film) aimed to start a new franchise with George Miller directing. It was ultimately canceled due to production and industry issues as well as shifting studio plans. The project influenced later moves to develop solo films for each hero and build the DC Extended Universe.

Television
- Animated and live-action series have carried the League’s name and ideas:
- Animated: Super Friends (1973), Justice League (2001), Justice League Unlimited (2004), Static Shock (2001), Young Justice (2011), Justice League Action (2016).
- Live-action/crossover-related: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (2020) features crossover elements with DC heroes and teams.

Video games
- Notable games include Justice League Task Force (1995), Justice League Heroes (2006), Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (2008), DC Universe Online (2011), Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (2012), and the Injustice fighting game series (Injustice: Gods Among Us, 2013; Injustice 2, 2017).

Overview
The Justice League has evolved from a comic-book team to a central part of DC’s film, TV, and game universes. The 2017 film introduced the team to a wide audience, while the 2021 Snyder Cut offered an alternative, more expansive version. The franchise continues to expand through new movies, shows, and games.
