John Mills (swimmer)

John Maurice Mills, born 28 March 1953, is a retired British swimmer. He competed in the 1972 and 1976 Olympics for Great Britain. He won a bronze medal for England in the 4x200 metre freestyle relay at the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh. At the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Montreal, he earned two silver medals in the 100 metre butterfly and the 4x100 metre medley relay. Mills also swam for Britain at the 1978 World Championships (West Berlin) in the 4x100 metre medley and at the 1977 European Championships (Jönköping) in the 100 metre butterfly and the 4x100 metre medley. Nationally, he won ASA British titles in the 100 metre butterfly (1972, 1976, 1977, 1978), the 200 metre butterfly (1971), and the 1500 metre freestyle (1971).
