John Carr Lord (29 April 1844 – 25 May 1911) was an Australian cricketer and racehorse breeder. He was born in Hobart, Van Diemen's Land, and was educated in Portsmouth, England.

At 19, he played in Hampshire's first-ever first-class match against Sussex in 1864. He opened the batting in the first innings and scored 11, then batted at number 10 in the second innings and was not out on 4. He later played one first-class match for Tasmania against Victoria in Launceston in 1873, scoring 11 in the first innings and 3 in the second.

He played a total of two first-class matches, making 29 runs with an average of 9.66 and a top score of 11, along with one catch.

Beyond cricket, Lord was a prominent racehorse breeder and racing official. He served as secretary of the Midland Jockey Club and was an official with the Campbell Town Racing Club. He attended the opening of the Southern Tasmanian Cricket Association Ground in 1882 and played in the first match there between a Tasmanian team and MCC. Later in life he was a hunter and master of the Midland hounds, and he worked as a warden for Oatlands.

Lord died at Antill Ponds, Tasmania, in May 1911 after heart problems brought on by a horse ride in hot weather. He was married and had one son and six daughters.
