Marxist Communist Party of India (United) (MCPI(U)) is a left-wing communist party in India. It was formed in 2005 by uniting several groups: the Marxist Communist Party of India, the Communist Party Marxist (Punjab) led by Mangat Ram Pasla, the BTR-EMS-AKG Janakeeya Vedi (a Kerala-based splinter group of the CPI(M) linked to CITU), and the Hardan Roy group in West Bengal. Jagjit Singh Lyallpuri was its first general secretary; the current General Secretary is Maddikayala Ashok. The party’s headquarters are in Hyderabad.
