Joe Evans (footballer)
Joe Evans, born Walter Gerald Evans on 20 April 1920 in West Melbourne, Victoria, was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the VFL. From Brunswick City, he played as a centre/half-forward, standing 177 cm tall and weighing 73 kg. Evans appeared in 21 games and kicked 1 goal for Essendon from 1940 to 1942, before his career was ended by a bad knee injury. He died on 17 August 2013, aged 93.
