Apogonia ferruginea
Apogonia ferruginea is a small dung beetle found in India and Sri Lanka. It is about 5–9 mm long and has a shiny rusty-brown body. Adults come out from mid-April to mid-August and are active at night, often attracted to light. They feed on flowers and the leaves of many plants and are considered minor pests. In Rajasthan, they are known to damage pomegranate leaves during June and July.
