Joe Dean (golfer)
Joe Dean (born 23 June 1994) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He was born in Sheffield and turned pro in 2016.
As an amateur, Dean was runner-up at the 2012 Fairhaven Trophy, won the 2013 Dutch Junior Open, and played for England in the Boys and Men’s Home Internationals. He won the 2015 English Amateur at Alwoodley, beating Alfie Plant in the final.
Dean started on the PGA EuroPro Tour, finishing 10th in his rookie season (2016) and 5th in 2017. He moved up to the Challenge Tour in 2019, finishing 106th. He returned to the EuroPro Tour, winning the 2021 Worcestershire Masters and finishing 8th in the rankings.
He earned his European Tour card for 2024 at Q-School. He initially did not travel to events due to costs and worked as a delivery driver for Morrisons. He joined the European Tour in February 2024 and quickly rose to runner-up at the Magical Kenya Open and then at the KLM Open, losing a playoff to Guido Migliozzi. He finished 37th on the Race to Dubai, earning about €1.0 million in prize money. His best major result is a T25 at The Open in 2024; he has not played in the Masters, PGA Championship, or U.S. Open.
