Jocelyn Andamo
Jocelyn Santos "Alyn" Andamo (born April 23, 1963) is a Filipino nurse and health activist. She is the Secretary-General of Filipino Nurses United and ran with Makabayan in the 2025 Philippine Senate election.
Born in Manila, Andamo studied nursing at Far Eastern University and graduated cum laude in 1983. After graduation, she worked as a day care nurse with the Philippine Nurses Association and participated in community health programs. Her early work brought her to indigenous and rural communities in Quirino, where she saw the health challenges they faced. She has fought for better working conditions and higher pay for health workers.
From 2009 to 2015, she was the Education Committee Coordinator for the Alliance of Health Workers. She founded and led Nagkakaisang Narses sa Adhikaing Reporma sa Kalusugan (NARS ng Bayan) and campaigned against the privatization of several government hospitals.
In 2021, she criticized the Department of Labor and Employment for proposing to exchange nurses for COVID-19 vaccines. She announced her Makabayan candidacy on National Heroes Day, August 26, 2024, and said she would push for higher salaries for nurses and other healthcare workers if elected. She filed her candidacy on October 4, 2024. In the 2025 Senate race, she finished 46th with 829,084 votes. She is married to Gerardo Andamo.
