Joanne Wise
Joanne Wise (born 15 March 1971 in Solihull, England) is a former British long jumper. She competed for England and Great Britain and was part of Coventry Godiva Harriers.
Her career highlight came at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, where she won gold in the long jump. She also competed in two Olympic Games, Barcelona 1992 and Sydney 2000.
As a junior she won multiple national titles and earned a bronze at the 1988 World Junior Championships in Sudbury with a 6.69 m wind-assisted jump. Wise set a UK indoor record of 6.70 m in 1997 and held it for 15 years. Her outdoor personal best is 6.76 m, achieved in Malmö in 1999, and she finished 5th at the 1999 World Championships in Seville with 6.75 m.
She is tied for 11th on the UK all-time list for long jump and won several national titles during her career.
