ASIS Boats is a private company that makes rigid inflatable boats (RHIBs) and other vessels. Its headquarters are in Dubai, UAE, near the Jebel Ali area, and it also operates an office and factory in Maryland, USA. ASIS is one of the world’s three largest RHIB manufacturers and runs a fully integrated operation from design to delivery.

The company was founded in 2005 by Roy Nouhra, who had been co-CEO of his family business Solico UAE. The first boat was sold in 2006, and ASIS became an independent company. In 2014, ASIS was licensed to assemble the Sealegs Amphibious System, becoming the first manufacturer outside New Zealand and Australia to use the technology. The company showcased its first amphibious inboard RIB at the Dubai International Boat Show, followed by its first outboard amphibious boat the next year. Three years later, ASIS developed its own 4WD amphibious system, the BAS 80-4.

Initially focused on leisure boats, ASIS later expanded into commercial and military markets. By 2016, leisure boats accounted for about 10% of sales, with most of the business now in professional and military segments.

ASIS’s amphibious boats feature a full 4WD system powered by hydro-electric energy connected to an inboard gas engine. The wheels can be raised or lowered, allowing smooth movement in and out of the water. These boats are especially useful for emergency and rescue operations during floods, reaching places cars or planes cannot.

The company also provides training in piloting and maintenance. Their RHIB Patrol and Rescue Boat was highlighted in Yacht Emirates Magazine in 2014 for its innovative design. In 2015, ASIS won the Gulf Capital SME Award for Business of the Year, and Roy Nouhra was named Entrepreneur of the Year.
