Jim Woods, nicknamed "Woody," is a former American professional baseball player who played as a third baseman. He was born on September 17, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, and he batted and threw right-handed. He stood 6 feet tall and weighed 175 pounds.

Woods spent eight years in professional baseball from 1957 to 1964, with parts of three seasons in Major League Baseball. He played for the Chicago Cubs in 1957 and for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1960–1961. In the major leagues, he appeared in 36 games, collecting 17 hits, including three doubles and three home runs, for a batting average of .207 with 12 runs batted in.

Most of his career was spent in the minor leagues. A notable moment came on January 11, 1960, when Woods was traded from the Cubs to the Phillies along with Alvin Dark and John Buzhardt in exchange for Richie Ashburn.
