Jim Vernon (James Vernon) was a Scottish amateur footballer born on 31 March 1942 in Kilmarnock. He played as a full back and began his career with Jordanhill Training College before joining the Scottish League with Queen's Park, making 9 appearances from 1962 to 1963. He also played for Clyde in 1963, adding 2 appearances. Vernon represented Scotland at amateur level, earning 4 caps. He passed away on 17 September 2014 in Ardrossan, Scotland, at the age of 72.
