This Is What I Live For
This Is What I Live For is the tenth studio album by Blue October. It was released on October 23, 2020, through Up/Down and Brando Records. The album runs about 58 minutes and was produced by Justin Furstenfeld.
For the first time, lead guitarist Will Knaak plays on every track. Justin Furstenfeld’s daughter, Blue Reed, provides vocals on the song “Fight for Love.” The title track features Steve Schiltz of Longwave.
Two songs, “I Will Follow You” and “This Is What I Live For,” were recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. The track “Only Lost Is Found” samples Idaho’s “Live Today Again.”
Singles include “Oh My My” (released February 28, 2020), which became a Top 10 hit on alternative rock radio, “Completely” (August 21, 2020), and “Moving On (So Long)” (September 25, 2020). The “Oh My My” video was animated by Johnny Chew because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so no band members appear in it. Artwork for the album was created by Phillip Nichols.
