Jerry M. Wallace
Jerry McLain Wallace (born April 1935 in Rockingham, North Carolina) is an American theologian, ordained Baptist minister, and educator who served as the fourth president of Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, from May 2003 to July 2015. He earned a BA in English and Government from East Carolina University, a BD and ThM from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and an MS in Sociology and an EdD in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University.
Wallace joined Campbell University’s faculty in 1970 and later served as vice president for Academic Affairs and provost from 1984 to 2001 before becoming president in 2003. In 2011, the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine was established and named in his honor. He retired in 2015 and was succeeded by J. Bradley Creed.
