Sam Hunt (born August 6, 1951 in Longview, Texas) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football for Stephen F. Austin and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 15th round of the 1974 NFL Draft. Hunt spent most of his NFL career with the Patriots from 1974 to 1979, then played for the Green Bay Packers in 1980. He recorded 7 interceptions, 6 fumble recoveries, and 1 touchdown. His younger brother Byron Hunt also played in the NFL.
