Esmeralda, Queensland
Esmeralda is a rural area in the Shire of Croydon, Queensland, Australia. It covers about 5,200 square kilometres and has almost no people living there. In the 2021 census there were no residents; in 2016 there were 21 people. The land is mainly used for grazing on native vegetation, and there are several homesteads.
A road called the Richmond–Croydon Road runs through Esmeralda from south to north. The locality was named after a local hill called Esmeralda, named on 30 September 1873 by explorer George Elphinstone Dalrymple.
