Jeffrey H. Aronson (born September 21, 1958) is an American businessman and philanthropist who co-founded Centerbridge Partners in 2005 with Mark T. Gallogly. He serves as managing principal at Centerbridge, which manages about $30 billion and has offices in New York City and London. The firm focuses on private equity, distressed securities, and credit investments.

Aronson studied at Johns Hopkins University, graduating with honors in 1980, and earned a law degree from New York University School of Law in 1983.

He began his career as a securities lawyer at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, then worked as Senior Corporate Counsel at L.F. Rothschild. He later joined Angelo, Gordon & Co., where he led distressed investments and built the leveraged loan business, serving as portfolio manager for distressed funds from 1992 to 2005 and founding the leveraged loan business in 1998.

In philanthropy, Aronson joined Johns Hopkins University’s board of trustees in 2006 and became chair in 2013, also leading its executive committee. He sits on the boards of Johns Hopkins Medicine and New York University School of Law. With his wife, Shari, he runs the Jeffrey H. and Shari L. Aronson Family Foundation, which supports education and Jewish causes. In 2015, the foundation donated $10 million to create the Aronson Center for International Studies at Johns Hopkins. The foundation has funded programs like Teach For America, Breakthrough Collaborative, Harlem RBI, Fund for Public Schools, Harlem Village Academies, and Bottom Line. It also supports institutions such as New York University, Lehigh University, the University of Pittsburgh, Williams College, and various Jewish organizations, as well as health and environmental initiatives.

Aronson lives in New York City with his wife, Shari, and they have two daughters and a son.
