Chicualacuala
Chicualacuala is a town in Gaza Province, Mozambique, near the border with Zimbabwe. It is commonly called Chicualacuala, and it also shares its name with the district. The official name is Vila Eduardo Mondlane. In colonial times it was known as Malvérnia, named after Godfrey Huggins, the 1st Viscount Malvern.
The town has a history of attacks by Rhodesia because it hosts an important communications site.
Nearby villages include Nyala, Samo, Cherilele, Benibueni, and Sambula.
Chicualacuala is where the Zimbabwean and Mozambican railways meet, forming part of the Limpopo railway. The station is connected to Zimbabwe’s Sango station.
