Jean-Paul Lakafia (born 29 June 1961) is a retired French javelin thrower. He was born in Nouméa, New Caledonia. He represented France at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and finished 12th. His best throw is 86.60 metres, set in 1985. Lakafia won a Jeux de la Francophonie title and earned medals at the South Pacific Games. He is 1.92 metres tall and weighed about 103 kg during his career. He has a daughter, Chanelle, and two sons, Pierre-Gilles and Raphaël, who are both French rugby players.
