Dorcas Affo-Toffey

Dorcas Affo-Toffey is a Ghanaian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and politician. She belongs to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and serves as the Member of Parliament for the Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region. She was first elected in 2020 and has served since January 7, 2021. She was re-elected in 2024 and started a new term in January 2025.

Early life and education
Dorcas was born on May 4, 1975, in Tikobo No. 1. She grew up in a large family and was the 18th child of her father’s 23 children. She attended local schools, Nkroful Agriculture Secondary School, then moved to the United States to study. She earned a diploma in branding and customer service management, a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Knutsford University College. In 2024 she completed another MBA (Generic) from Accra Business School and has a Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability Management from Regent University College.

Career
Dorcas spent more than 25 years in the United States working in health, education administration, real estate, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy. She started several businesses, including Queen D Beauty and Topeka Properties, and was a senior partner at Selfie Homes. She returned to Ghana in 2012 and is the CEO and country representative for Nano Fix IT Company and Sebastian Closet Inc.

Political career
She was the NDC parliamentary candidate for Jomoro in August 2019 and won the primary with 87.4% of votes. In the 2020 general election, she won the Jomoro seat with 55.5% of votes, defeating the incumbent Paul Essien of the NPP. In Parliament, she has served on the Gender and Children Committee and the Lands and Forestry Committee. In her maiden speech, she urged the government to reopen land borders closed due to COVID-19 to boost economic activity.

Legal matters
In 2021 she faced a dual citizenship dispute. A court issued a bench warrant, but she appeared in court with her lawyer, and the warrant was later rescinded.

Jomoro FC
In March 2021 she bought Proud United and renamed it Jomoro FC, moving the club to Jomoro. Home games are played at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinase.

Personal life
Dorcas Affo-Toffey is married and has two daughters: Francine Koffi (Fantana), a musician, and Lynelle Koffi, a cybersecurity professional in the United States.
