Jason Read is an American rower from Ringoes, New Jersey. He began rowing at the Hun School of Princeton and later rowed for Temple University, Saint Joseph's University, and studied at Oxford's Saïd Business School. He was in the bow seat of the U.S. men's eight that won gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics, with the team setting an Olympic heat record. He also competed in the 2008 Olympics. Read's other competitions include the 2003 World Championships in Milan (eight), the 2001 World Cup (Princeton eight), the 2004 World Cup in Lucerne (four), and the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara (eight). Off the water, he volunteered with the Amwell Valley–Ringoes Rescue Squad and helped after the September 11 attacks in 2001.
