Jamuna Group is a private Bangladeshi conglomerate based in Dhaka. It was founded in 1974 by Nurul Islam Babul and works in textiles, chemicals, leather, construction, engineering, electronics, beverages, media and advertising, and more. The group had assets of about $2.4 billion in 2019. Salma Islam is listed as a key figure. Babul, an architect by training, died in July 2020 after contracting COVID-19 in Dhaka. He also built Jamuna Future Park and owned the Bangla daily Jugantor and the TV channel Jamuna TV. Jamuna Group runs a nonprofit to help Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and has donated about $5 million to it.
