Jake Cole
Jake Stanley Cole (born 11 September 1985) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He was born in Hammersmith, London, and is 6 ft 2 in tall.
Cole began his career with Queens Park Rangers (QPR), coming through the youth system. He spent time on loan at Hayes, AFC Wimbledon, Farnborough Town, Oxford United and Barnet. He made a handful of league appearances for QPR and was praised for his professionalism.
In 2009 he joined Barnet on a permanent deal after a loan spell, and he quickly became an important player. He was Barnet’s Player of the Year for the 2009–10 season, playing 52 games and keeping 14 clean sheets. He stayed with Barnet for the 2010–11 season before leaving.
Cole moved to Plymouth Argyle in 2011, signing a two-year contract. He became the first-choice goalkeeper in the 2011–12 season and helped Argyle stay in the Football League. He remained with Argyle for several seasons, sometimes sharing duties with other goalkeepers.
In 2014 he joined Woking, then moved to Aldershot Town in 2016 and Maidstone United in 2019. In 2020 he joined Gloucester City as a player-coach, a role he held until 2022.
Across his career, Cole made 400 league appearances and scored no goals.
