JaMycal Hasty
JaMycal Hasty is an American football running back and return specialist. Born on September 12, 1996, in Longview, Texas, he played college football at Baylor. He was a four-star recruit who chose Baylor over several other schools. A back injury in college caused him to redshirt his first year. Over his Baylor career, he rushed for 1,998 yards and 15 touchdowns on 386 carries and added 485 receiving yards on 79 catches with one receiving touchdown. He earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 as a senior.
Professional career:
- 2020: Undrafted, signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Spent time on the practice squad, made his NFL debut in Week 3 versus the Giants (1 catch, 2 rushes for 9 yards), and scored his first rushing TD in Week 8 against the Seahawks. Spent some time on injured reserve in 2020.
- 2021: Placed on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain in Week 2, activated later in the season.
- 2022: Re-signed with the 49ers in March, but was waived in August and claimed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. With the Jaguars, he contributed as a backup running back and pass catcher, finishing the season with 194 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs, plus 126 receiving yards on 20 receptions and 1 receiving TD.
- 2023: Jaguars gave him a contract extension in February. He started the season behind several backs, and was waived by the Jaguars in November. He was claimed by the New England Patriots on November 13.
- 2024: Played for the Patriots. On October 20, 2024, he caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Drake Maye against the Jaguars in London. He appeared in 15 games, totaling 20 carries for 69 yards and 10 receptions for 59 yards.
- 2025: Re-signed with the Patriots on August 5, but released on August 26. On August 28, he signed with the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad.
Career NFL stats (as of 2025): 479 rushing yards, 4.0 rushing average, 4 rushing touchdowns, 60 receptions, 375 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns.
