JCSAT-4B
JCSAT-4B (formerly JCSAT-13 and Lippostar-1) is a geostationary communications satellite operated by SKY Perfect JSAT Group. Built by Lockheed Martin on the A2100 platform, it weighs about 4,528 kg and is designed for 15 years in orbit.
Launch and orbit
- Launched: May 15, 2012, on an Ariane 5 ECA rocket from the Guiana Space Center
- Reached final orbit at 124° East and began service on July 10, 2012, replacing JCSAT-4A
Payload and beams
- Ku-band payload: 32 transponders at 27 MHz and 12 transponders at 36 MHz (total bandwidth 1.296 GHz)
- Two fixed beams: Japan Beam and Southeast Asia Beam
- Two steerable beams available for flexible coverage
What it does
- Primarily supports digital TV broadcasting and pay-per-view services across the Asia-Pacific region
- Provides direct-to-home TV service in Indonesia (under an agreement with Lippo Group)
