Mexican Federal Highway 140D
Federal Highway 140D, also known as La Carretera Federal 14D, is a toll road that links Puebla City with Veracruz in Mexico. It starts east of Puebla near Amozoc de Mota and runs northeast through Puebla and Tlaxcala, with major interchanges at Zitlaltepec, Cuapiaxtla, Libres, and Tepeyahualco. The Puebla-to-Veracruz section was built by OHL, and traveling the entire highway costs about 127 pesos for a car.
In Veracruz state, maintenance is handled by Copexa. Tolls in this section include 139 pesos for the Perote-to-Banderilla segment (via Las Vigas de Ramírez) and 139 pesos for the Libramiento de Xalapa bypass. East of Xalapa, 140D briefly shares routing with Fed. 140, then leaves to bypass Plan del Río on a 12-kilometer toll segment that charges 40 pesos; this portion is operated by Concesiones y Promociones Malibrán, S.A. de C.V.
The western end sits at Fed. 150D near Puebla City, and the eastern end connects with Fed. 180 north of Veracruz.
