Ibrahim Mughrabi
Ibrahim Mughrabi (born 1939 in Aleppo, Syria) is a Palestinian former footballer who played as a striker in Syria, Greece, and Egypt. While studying law at Damascus University, he played for Halab Al-Ahli. In 1962 he became the first foreign player in the Greek league when he joined AEK Athens, where fans called him Ibrahim. He made a memorable debut on September 27, 1962, scoring a hat-trick in a 7-2 win over Egaleo, and helped AEK win the Greek Championship that season. He left Greece mid-season and returned to Syria, then moved to Cairo the next year to sign with Al Ahli—the first professional contract in Egyptian football. After that season he stopped playing to focus on law. In 1965 he represented Palestine at the Pan-Arab Games in Egypt, scoring the winner against Lebanon as Palestine finished fourth. He later lived for many years in Switzerland with his partner.
