Hoxton East and Shoreditch (ward)
Hoxton East and Shoreditch is an electoral ward in the London Borough of Hackney, in Greater London. It was created in 2014 from parts of De Beauvoir, Haggerston and Hoxton, and its boundaries have been in place since then. The ward covers the areas of Hoxton and Shoreditch and has an area of 0.9231 square kilometres (0.3564 square miles). It had a population of 11,768 in 2021 and 8,444 registered electors in 2022. Hoxton East and Shoreditch returns three councillors to Hackney Council. The current councillors are Kam Adams, Anya Sizer and Faruk Tinaz.
The ward’s major settlements are Hoxton and Shoreditch. It first appeared in the 2014 local elections (22 May 2014). Regular elections are held every four years, with results in 2018 (3 May 2018) and 2022 (5 May 2022). By-elections have also taken place: 6 May 2021 (after the resignation of Feryal Clark) and 2 May 2024 (held on the same day as other London elections).
