The 2005 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships were held March 17–19 in St. Louis, Missouri at the Savvis Center. Dozens of teams and about 330 wrestlers competed for individual honors.

Oklahoma State dominated the meet, winning its 33rd team title and third in a row. The Cowboys crowned five individual champions: Zack Esposito (149 pounds), Johny Hendricks (165), Chris Pendleton (174), Jake Rosholt (197), and Steve Mocco (285). Greg Jones of West Virginia was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler, and several other Cowboys earned All-American honors. The victory is remembered as one of the most dominant performances in modern wrestling history.
