ASEB Sports Club
ASEB Sports Club, known as ASEB SC or The Powermen, is a multi-sport club from Guwahati, Assam. Founded in 1975 to promote sports among its members, it is owned by the three successor electricity companies: APDCL, AEGCL and APGCL. The club plays its home games at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati, which has a capacity of 15,000.
In football, ASEB SC currently competes in the Guwahati Premier Football League and also takes part in major local cups such as the Bordoloi Trophy, ATPA Shield and Independence Day Cup. The club previously played in India’s NFL Second Division (the second tier) during the 2001–02 to 2004–05 seasons. It has won many titles in the Guwahati Sports Association’s Super Division Football League. The team is led by head coach Ganesh Rai.
