Hitogui Ama
Hitogui Ama (Cannibal Ama) is a 1958 Japanese film about ama, traditional female divers. It was directed by Yoshiki Onoda and stars Yōko Mihara in her first lead role in Shintoho’s ama series, taking over from Michiko Maeda. The cast also includes Ken Utsui.
The story was written by Hiroshi Shihara, with screenplays by Yūsake Watanabe and Shigeru Kawakami. Mitsugu Ōkura produced the film. Cinematography was by Mamoru Morita, and the music was composed by Chūmei Watanabe. Shintoho released the movie on July 27, 1958.
Running time is 74 minutes. The film is in Japanese and was produced in Japan. It has not been released on home video, but it is not considered lost.
