San Martín Department, Mendoza
San Martín Department is in the center of Mendoza Province in Argentina. It covers 1,504 square kilometers and has about 140,000 people (2022 census). The capital city is also called San Martín. The department was established on December 20, 1816 and is named after General José de San Martín, a leader in Argentina’s War of Independence.
