Higashi-Shiogama Station
Higashi-Shiogama Station is a JR East railway station on the Senseki Line in Shiogama, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. It is 17.2 kilometers from Aoba-dōri, the line’s starting point. The station has one side platform and one island platform on elevated tracks, with the station building underneath.
The station opened on April 18, 1927, as part of the Miyagi Electric Railway. The line was nationalized on May 1, 1944. The station was moved to its current location on November 1, 1981. It became part of JR East after the privatization of JNR on April 1, 1987.
In fiscal 2016, the station was used by an average of 2,458 boarding passengers daily.
