Heldrungen
Heldrungen is a small town in the Kyffhäuserkreis district of Thuringia, Germany. Since January 1, 2019, it has been part of the town An der Schmücke. The area covers 23.27 square kilometers and sits about 128 meters above sea level. As of December 31, 2017, about 2,207 people lived there.
The town lies near the Unstrut and Wipper rivers. It is known for its fortifications, which include two water ditches, four Vauban bastions, and five rondells. In the center is a Renaissance castle built from 1512 to 1518, which today serves as a youth hostel. The postal code is 06577, the dialing code is 034673, and the vehicle registration code is KYF.
