2017–18 Handball-Bundesliga
The 2017–18 Handball-Bundesliga was the 53rd season of Germany's top handball league and the 41st in a single-league format. It ran from 24 August 2017 to 3 June 2018. SG Flensburg-Handewitt won the title, their second. The league featured 18 teams: 15 from the previous season and three promoted from the 2. Bundesliga — TuS Nettelstedt-Lübbecke (champions), TV Hüttenberg (runners-up), and Die Eulen Ludwigshafen (third). At season's end, TuS Nettelstedt-Lübbecke and TV Hüttenberg were relegated. The top scorer was Casper Ulrich Mortensen with 230 goals. There were 306 matches and 16,367 total goals, averaging 53.49 per game. For European competition, SG Flensburg-Handewitt and Rhein-Neckar Löwen qualified for the Champions League, while Füchse Berlin, SC Magdeburg, THW Kiel and TSV Hannover-Burgdorf qualified for the EHF Cup.
