Henry Seymour Courtney, known as Harry Courtney, was an American baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1919 to 1922 for the Washington Senators and Chicago White Sox. He was born November 19, 1898, in Asheville, North Carolina, and died December 11, 1954, in Lyme, Connecticut. He batted and threw left-handed. Courtney debuted in the majors on September 13, 1919, with the Senators and played his last game on September 3, 1922, with the White Sox. His career record was 22 wins and 26 losses, with a 4.91 ERA and 112 strikeouts. In 1921, he also played for the Senators in the American Professional Football Association, but the team's owner ordered him to stop playing football so he could focus on baseball.
