Hans Boersma
Hans Boersma (born 1961 in the Netherlands) is a Dutch-Canadian Anglican theologian who specializes in patristics, sacramental theology, and nouvelle théologie. He comes from a Reformed background and is a priest in the Anglican Church in North America.
Education and early work:
- Degrees from the University of Lethbridge, the Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Churches, and Utrecht University
- Thesis: A Hot Pepper Corn (1993)
Academic career:
- Taught at Trinity Western University (1999–2005)
- J. I. Packer Professor of Theology at Regent College (2005–2019)
- Danforth Visiting Chair at Saint Louis University (2015–2016)
- Currently holds the Chair to the Order of St. Benedict Servants of Christ Endowed Professorship in Ascetical Theology at Nashotah House (Anglo-Catholic seminary)
- President of the Canadian-American Theological Association (2003–2004)
Ordination:
- Ordained as deacon and priest in 2021
