Handeloh
Handeloh is a small municipality in the Harburg district of Lower Saxony, Germany. It sits between the Seeve and Este rivers, just south of Buchholz in der Nordheide, with the Harburg Hills to the northwest and the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve to the southeast. Handeloh is part of the collective municipality of Tostedt and includes the subdivisions Handeloh, Höckel, Inzmühlen, and Wörme. The area is about 26.9 square kilometers in size and lies around 46 meters above sea level; about 2,521 people live there (as of the end of 2023).
The coat of arms shows a gold wagon wheel, blue waves, and a pine tree, symbolizing forestry, the rivers Este and Seeve, and the four villages in the parish. Handeloh has two stations on the Heath Railway: Handeloh and Büsenbachtal. Büsenbachtal also serves Wörme and the Büsenbach valley walking area. Handeloh station is the last stop in the HVV tariff zone, and since 2008 season tickets have been valid as far as Soltau. A notable local sight is the Reiterhof manor house, which was used as the main setting for the TV series Neues vom Süderhof.
