Patrick Augustine
Patrick Pervez Augustine is an Anglican missionary bishop in the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, serving as the Bishop of the Diocese of Bor. He was born in Pakistan and led St. Thomas Church in Islamabad before moving to the United States, where he was rector of Christ Episcopal Church in La Crosse, Wisconsin for 16 years. He also served as Canon and Commissary in the United States to the Anglican Archbishop of Sudan.
He earned a Doctor of Ministry from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2008. In 2012, Archbishop Rowan Williams awarded him the Cross of St Augustine for his work in evangelism, ecumenism, and religious freedom. Nashotah House awarded him a Doctor of Divinity in 2013, and Virginia Theological Seminary awarded another Doctor of Divinity in 2015. In July 2018, the Episcopal Peace Fellowship gave him the John Nevin Sayer Award at the General Convention.
