Hamadou Souley
Hamadou Adamou Souley is a Nigerien politician. He served as the Minister of the Interior and Decentralization from November 2021 until his arrest in the 2023 coup in Niger. He is currently imprisoned by the military junta, the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland. As of 2025, Souley remains in detention. In April 2025, Transparency International Niger and the Association for the Fight against Corruption (ANLC-TI) denounced his continued detention and other arrests as prolonged and unjust, calling for his immediate release and for the release of other detainees, including former President Mohamed Bazoum and former First Lady Hadiza Bazoum.
