HMS Inconstant was an Arethusa-class light cruiser of the Royal Navy. Built by William Beardmore and Company, she was laid down on 3 April 1913, launched on 6 July 1914, and commissioned in January 1915. She carried several pennant numbers during her career: 5A (1914), 73, 77, and 56. Inconstant joined the Grand Fleet as part of the 1st Light Cruiser Squadron and took part in the Battle of Jutland in 1916. After the war, she was sold for scrap on 9 June 1922 to Cashmore of Newport.

Design and armament in brief: Arethusa-class ships were built to lead destroyer flotillas and defend the fleet against enemy destroyers. Inconstant displaced about 3,500 tons, was roughly 437 feet long, and had a beam of about 39 feet. She could reach around 28.5 knots. Her main guns were two 6-inch rifles, supported by six 4-inch guns, plus a small anti-aircraft gun and two twin 21-inch torpedo tubes. The armor was light.

Fate: Scrapped, 1922.
