Gymnopilus luteocarneus is a mushroom in the family Hymenogastraceae. It was described by Hesler in 1969. It belongs to the fungi kingdom (Fungi), Basidiomycota division, Agaricomycetes class, and the order Agaricales. The cap is 3–5 cm across and convex. The gills are attached to the cap (hymenium adnexed or adnate). It is saprotrophic, feeding on decaying wood. It grows solitary to scattered on conifer logs and has been found in California in November.
