Gumboro is an unincorporated community in Sussex County, Delaware, in the United States. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland–Delaware metropolitan area. In 2006, lawmakers approved making Gumboro an incorporated town, but Governor Ruth Ann Minner vetoed the plan because there would be a gap in local government before a new town government could be formed.

Gumboro is known for the infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV), discovered there in 1962. The virus, often called Gumboro disease, weakens chickens’ immune systems. Young birds under about two weeks usually show no symptoms; older birds often become sick.

The town has a community center on Millsboro Highway, which used to be a schoolhouse. Bayshore Community Church is located there, and the West Woods Methodist Episcopal Church in Gumboro was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
