1986–87 Czechoslovak First League: The season had 16 teams. Sparta Prague won the championship. Škoda Plzeň and Dynamo České Budějovice were relegated. Sparta Prague qualified for the European Cup. Dunajská Streda qualified for the Cup Winners' Cup. Vítkovice and Bohemians Prague qualified for the UEFA Cup. The top scorer was Václav Daněk with 24 goals.
