Grendel Tales
Grendel Tales is a Dark Horse Comics series of creator-owned stories set in Matt Wagner's Grendel world. The stories are created by different writers and artists and were published irregularly as miniseries. They were meant to follow the original Grendel series, but Comico's bankruptcy halted that plan; Grendel #40 included a short story by Steven T. Seagle and Ho Che Anderson that started the idea. Grendel Tales finally began in 1993, published by Dark Horse. Critic Larry Snelly praised the mix of artists and writers in a 1995 review. The series received Eisner Award nominations in 1994 for Best Painter/Digital Artist, in 1995 for Best Penciller/Inker or Penciller/Inker Team, and for Best Editor in 1994 and 1995.
